Where are you?
Vatulino is below you, but the clouds have covered almost everything. Find yourself on the map from a patch of ground.
5 jumps from 500 to 4000 metres
How to play
- 1Look down. Through the clouds you'll see a patch of ground: a field, a village, the edge of a forest, the runway.
- 2Drop a pin on the map where you think you are.
- 3The closer the pin, the more points. Misses are judged against altitude: 300 metres off from 4000 metres is excellent, from 500 it isn't.
Why skydivers play it
On a cloudy day the ground shows up in pieces. If you know the area around the dropzone, one gap is enough to tell where the landing area is and where to fly under canopy. The game trains exactly that: recognising the ground from a fragment.
Vatulino dropzone
A sport airfield in the Ruza district of Moscow Oblast, five kilometres from Ruza. Grass runway 14/32, skydiving almost all year round, with a break only for the spring thaw.
More dropzones are coming.
